Hey, guys! I'm switching over to my other xanga. So if you still want to read my stuff, go to www.xanga.com/ladyinthelight.

Yeah, I was looking back at it and realized that I started it a year ago today. And then looked back over some of the private entries from last spring. Oh, wow. Kinda reminded me of how things were all the way back then. And some things that are still applicable, interestingly enough. Some things God puts in your heart stay there. And that can be quite comforting.

Long day

Wow! Tonight makes me so glad I'm planning to be a performer. We ended up rehearsing four and a half hours today - two hours with piano and the rest with the orchestra. It was sooooooo much fun. It's definitely time to collapse into a warm bath, but I wouldn't at all mind doing that kind of thing as a career. It made me want to grow up and be a mature singer so I'll be able to sing with the orchestra by myself someday. Singing in general has been so dramatically different this semester - in a good way. Still haven't gone in recital seminar yet, so we'll have to see how it holds. Found a song ("Summertime") that is apparently really nice in my voice and Julie said I'll be doing it quite soon. Quick! Before I freak out about it! Good lesson today.

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. . . . For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'" - Isaiah 41:10, 13

Turns out I'll be home about a week and a half the entire summer. Whooee. Leaving for Chiang Mai straight from summer seminar, which starts the week after school is out. Should be coming home around August 11. And I found out I only need to raise $3800 instead of five grand. Yay for $75/month rent!

Tomorrow promises to be vigorous. Sight Singing at 8:00, of course, then my hour voice lesson, Vocal Arts Ensemble, English at 1:30, then right to opera for an hour, two hour choir rehearsal w/ orchestra for the first time . . . grab a quick supper, then more rehearsal from 7:00 until we get it right. In the words of the lovely Jordana as she begins stroking her music after sustaining a high B for three measures: "Oh, my . . . silly Verdi." Seriously, what was that guy thinking?! . . .

On a happy note, I learned to "swoosh" a fan in opera yesterday. Took me forever with that cruddy one, but I finally got it down pat. Really, it's harder than it looks. We get to wear huge full skirts! I can't wait.

And I'm now going to take advantage of the opportunity to get to bed before 11:00. Love and huggles to all. Anybody want to explain to me why I've had "Sk8er Boi" stuck in my head for so long?

This has officially been the best almost two weeks of the year. Nothing particularly happy-fying about them, but they've been so extremely blessed. Oh, and about the pooey love week post . . . for those of you who seem to wonder, the majority of that sarcasm is jest. While there is a bit of seriousness there, it is mostly sheer annoyance at the hoopla of the whole bit rather than me just being bitter. Seriously, I need to make a T-shirt about this kind of thing . . .

Hmmmm. My beloved roommate is at Greek study group. I feel cute tonight. Hmmm . . . Okay, so that thought wasn't going anywhere. Although Kayla, Trevor, and Robby practically convinced me to try out for Sing Song hostess when I'm old enough. Alrighty, enough chit chat. I'm gonna go practice my beloved percussion stuff. *flibbertys off to the practice rooms*

So what's up with this? As if some of us hadn't gotten enough poo on our noses during the festivities surrounding Pooey Love Day, we're now having a Pooey Love Week. Dangit. What is it with these people? Maybe I'll just stay away from people these next few days. I've been needing some more practice time anyway . . . Actually, I'm laughing at myself inside, despite the sarcastic exterior. Have no fear; The Johanna is still in working order - mildly disgruntled, but intact. Meh, whatever. I'm going to choir.
